How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Herbal Tea

How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Herbal Tea

There’s something magical about sitting down with a perfectly brewed cup of herbal tea. The aromas fill the room, the warmth hugs your hands, and the flavours dance on your palate. But the secret to that magical moment? It all comes down to how you brew your tea.

At Good Earth, we believe that the best cup of herbal tea is made with love—and a little know-how. Whether you’re a seasoned tea lover or just starting your herbal tea journey, we’ve put together a few simple steps to help you brew the perfect cup every time.

1. Choose Your Herbal Tea

The first step to brewing a perfect cup is selecting the right herbal tea. With so many options to choose from, each blend offers its own unique flavour profile and benefits. Whether you're in the mood for something calming, energising, or fruity, we’ve got a tea for every occasion. Here are a few customer favourites from our Herbal Tea Collection:

  • Moroccan Mint – A refreshing and invigorating blend, perfect for cooling off on a warm day.
  • Moringa & Mango – Enjoy a tropical escape with the sweetness of mango and the earthy tones of moringa.
  • Passionfruit & Orange – Bright, zesty, and packed with natural sweetness, it’s a fruity burst in every sip.

2. Boil Fresh Water

For the best flavour, always use fresh water. Herbal teas generally do best with water that’s just off the boil, around 95°C. Over-boiling can deplete the oxygen in the water, resulting in a flatter-tasting brew, so aim for a nice rolling boil, then let it settle for a few moments.

3. Use the Right Amount of Tea

For a perfectly balanced flavour, we recommend one tea bag per cup (about 200ml of water). If you’re brewing for more people or in a pot, simply add one tea bag per person.

4. Steep for the Perfect Time

Herbal teas require a bit of patience to fully release their flavours. Generally, steep your tea for 3-5 minutes. This allows the herbal infusion to fully develop without becoming too strong or bitter. If you prefer a bolder flavour, let it steep for a little longer.

Here’s a quick guide for our popular herbal blends:

  • Moroccan Mint: Steep for 3-4 minutes to enjoy the cooling, crisp mint flavour at its best.
  • Moringa & Mango: For a sweet and smooth tropical brew, 4-5 minutes is ideal.
  • Passionfruit & Orange: To bring out the bright, zesty flavours, let it steep for 3-5 minutes.

5. Customise to Your Taste

Once your tea is brewed to perfection, it’s time to enjoy! Herbal teas are delicious on their own, but you can always add a little twist to suit your taste. A dash of honey or a slice of lemon works beautifully with citrus-based teas like Passionfruit & Orange. Or, if you’re enjoying Moroccan Mint on a hot day, try it iced for an ultra-refreshing experience.

6. Sip and Savour

Take a moment to savour your tea. Inhale the fragrant steam, appreciate the flavours on your palate, and let the warmth bring you comfort. Herbal teas are not just about hydration—they’re a ritual, a moment of calm in a busy day, a connection to nature with every sip.

Why Choose Herbal Tea?

Herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free, making them perfect for any time of day—whether you’re looking for a morning pick-me-up or a calming evening wind-down. They offer a variety of flavours, from soothing and earthy to bold and fruity, so you can always find a tea that suits your mood.

At Good Earth, we’re passionate about creating herbal blends that not only taste amazing but also offer a moment of bliss. Whether you’re sipping on our Moringa & Mango or enjoying a cup of Moroccan Mint, we’re here to bring a little extra goodness into your day.
